Many people don't know what old Florida was like so I want to show you all that's historic, beautiful, retro, kitschy and untamed. Much of it has changed now, but you can still be a part of the adventure if you look in the right places. I love writing about Florida and submissions are always welcomed.

An authentic (deactivated) Nike Missile is currently being renovated to be unveiled in honor of the Nike 2/52 50th anniversary on October 21-22 in Miami Florida. One of the coolest things happening with this event is that renovations are being done by high school students.
These service men and women who took part in a crisis that brought the United States to the brink of nuclear war have grown older. Their stories need to be heard and we should be grateful for their service. I visited the HM69 Base last year and I can’t imagine having to stand guard there in the heat of summer.
