Florida Fresh & Other Slices

Many people don't know what old Florida was like so I want to show you all that's historic, beautiful, retro, kitschy and untamed. Much of it has changed now, but you can still be a part of the adventure if you look in the right places. I love writing about Florida and submissions are always welcomed.

Enjoy your stay in the F.L.A.

Amelia Island by Clyde Butcher.
I’ve been a fan of Clyde Butcher’s photographs & methods for a long time and we finally made a trip out to his gallery in Big Cypress. I encourage you to make that trip, you won’t be disappointed.
Speaking to his daughter, I got permission to post some of his landscape images on the blog. She was SO nice, and I totally felt a nerd vein pop in my head and I stumbled on my words. Gosh I felt like such a dork!! It’s like that time I met Gary Numan and couldn’t stop my voice from shaking when I spoke to him..and I wanted to tell him that I loved him and was going to throw him in my trunk (breathes into paper bag). Just kidding. Maybe. :b Sorry I digress..
Anyways, I hope you love Mr. Butchers work, his pictures evoke a sense of “old Florida” and sharing it will show that our natural heritage is worth protecting.
