Many people don't know what old Florida was like so I want to show you all that's historic, beautiful, retro, kitschy and untamed. ”The Senator” was Florida’s oldest cypress tree, and it just burned down this morning.
My family and I saw it over the past Christmas holiday and it saddens me that its fallen victim to an arson related brush fire. The other tree on the property, 90 foot “Lady Liberty”, was not damaged, but nothing will ever be as majestic as the Senator.
